    Mr. Watson has 33 years of experience in education in Canada . He began his career as an English teacher at St. John's Ravenscourt School in Winnipeg , Manitoba , Canada , one of Canada 's top private schools. His past experience includes Vice-Principal, Principal of two high schools, and Director of Instruction. He retired from public education in August, 2005. Mr. Watson holds a Bachelor of Arts (English, Sociology) and Certificate of Education from the University of Manitoba , as well as a Master of Arts (Counselling) from Gonzaga University.

     Judi Watson came to teach in China after retiring from public school education in Canada . She taught all grades from Kindergarten to Grade 10 in her 34 years of teaching. She worked for many years in Special Education but was most happy as a classroom teacher. She is a lifelong learner and is presently working on a CERTESL certificate through the University of Saskatchewan . Mrs. Watson has four married daughters, four grandchildren and two little dogs. She loves to play golf and travel in the summer. In winter she enjoys reading, skiing, and holidaying in warm places. Mrs. Watson has fallen in love with China and plans to travel often to China when she is finished her work with Maple Leaf.

    Mr. Patten currently performs dual roles at Shenyang Maple Leaf International School : he teaches Visual Arts 10 as well as fulfilling the position of Canadian Academic Advisor. He hails from the province of Alberta in Canada where he graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, The Alberta College of Art and Design and the University of Calgary . With more than a quarter century of teaching experience, coupled with a Masters degree in education, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his students. Mr. Patten first visited Shenyang in the mid-1970s as part of delegation hosted by the China-Canada Friendship Association.

丹尼斯·戴莫斯，科学老师，毕业于西蒙·菲沙大学，获教育学士学位及计算机科学毕业文凭。
    Mr. Demers has had a very diverse career, including 6 years of experience teaching Science overseas in Nigeria , Jamaica , Barbados , and now, China . This is his second year with Maple Leaf Education.He sets high standards for student learning outcomes, and strives to ensure individual success for every student. Mr. Demers is “…able to establish warm rapport with students through his firm but friendly manner”, “his creativity and exceptional perception of his students' needs has made him a most successful teacher”.“The Maple Leaf administration and support staff I have worked with this year and last, is the best I have ever had. That, together with the wonderful Chinese and other international students I have the opportunity to teach, makes my job exciting and rewarding.

    I was born in the beautiful city of Vancouver , British Columbia . I received a degree in Archaeology from Simon Fraser University in 2002 and I just completed my Bachelor's of Education and teacher's certification from the same university in August of this year. I taught English as a second language for a year and a half in Seoul , Korea and I traveled extensively throughout South America, Europe and Southeast Asia . I am excited to be teaching in Shenyang and particularly at Maple Leaf Schools because it combines my passion for offering quality education with an opportunity to learn a new language and discover a unique culture that has had a long and fascinating history.

    I am very pleased to be teaching at Shenyang Maple Leaft International School because I believe the students are dedicated, disciplined and will aim high in their studies.  I think the school can offer those students who are willing to apply themselves, a very well-rounded and culturally integrated education.  I am excited to be in China .  This is my third time in Asia and I am enjoying the many experiences of living in Shenyang.

    Jessica Akehurst is thrilled to be a member of the English Department at Shenyang Maple Leaf International School. She has taught English in Zielona Gora, Poland and has worked in Victoria as a Teacher on Call. Mrs. Akehurst is proud to be a part of the Shenyang Maple Leaf International School team.

    I am having a wonderful time making friendships and sharing knowledge with both staff and students. At our developing sub-urban outpost, we are enjoying the privileges of smaller class sizes, community living and an atmosphere of freshness that couples the opening of a new school. I am always delighted to see the enthusiastic and eager learners in my writing and speaking and listening classes. It is fantastic to see students receiving an education that bridges the biggest ocean, and I look forward to watching our students and school grow.

    Mrs. Michelle Relova teaches Mathematics 10 at SMLIS. Mrs. Relova received her British Columbia College of Teachers Certificate from the University of British Columbia Okanagan and spent time teaching Middle School students in Kelowna , British Columbia . She is certain that the combined knowledge of SMLIS students with her emphasis on Critical Thinking in her lessons will produce a better-rounded student, resulting in enhanced preparation for education overseas!

瑞非·里勒瓦，毕业于不列颠哥伦比亚大学，理学士学位。

    Mr. Rafie Relova teaches Information Technology 10 and is responsible for IT equipment in the school, as well as the Student Information System, TESS. He also teaches Science 10 to ESL students. Mr. Relova obtained his British Columbia Independent School Teachers Certificate. He believes that integrating the strengths of the Canadian and Chinese Educational Systems will best prepare SMLIS students for post-secondary education abroad!

雷内·斯道勒瑞，加方图书馆管理员， 多年从事于图书馆管理工作，并在此期间在职攻读了阿尔伯塔大学的文学学士学位。 2006 年 8 月毕业于西安大略大学，获得图书馆及信息学硕士学位。

    I was very happy to immediately get a job working for Maple Leaf schools. My interests are reading, cooking, and traveling. I'm very happy to have the opportunity to work and live in China and look forward to sharing a wonderful year with all of the great people at Shenyang Maple Leaf.

罗宾娜·博吉斯，毕业于西蒙菲莎大学，商务管理学士学位。
     Rubina Burgess is a teacher from Vancouver , British Columbia who teaches ESL levels I and II at Shenyang Maple Leaf International School . Her belief on the Maple Leaf philosophy is to blend both Chinese and Canadian ways of learning to order to enhance and bring forth new ideas and perspectives into the minds and souls of Chinese students. She believes that a successful life depends upon having an open mind and broadening one's view on the world. She feels that the presence of Canadian teachers at Shenyang Maple Leaf play an important role in bringing forth hands-on expertise and knowledge from North America in order to help young Chinese students lead successful and happy lives.

    I am proud to be teacher here at Shenyang Maple Leaf International School . My teaching credentials include two years of international teaching experience, a Bachelor of Science degree (Mathematics and Chemistry) from the University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of British Columbia. Living and teaching in China is like a new and exciting adventure everyday. I can't wait to see what happens next

    Kristy Ueda is excited to be a member of the first team of teachers to be at Shenyang Maple Leaf International School . She is thrilled to be a member of the English Department here at Shenyang Maple Leaf International School and thoroughly enjoys working with her students and colleagues.

    Ryan Waurynchuk is from the city of Cranbrook in the interior of British Columbia , Canada . This year Ryan is teaching Mathematics 10 and Mathematics 11. He has 6 years of teaching experience and has held positions in Canada , Mexico and China . Ryan also holds a diploma from Instituto Tecnologico y Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in Shenyang 's sister city of Monterrey , Mexico . Ryan's educational philosophy at Shenyang Maple Leaf International School is “If you study to remember, you may forget. If you study to understand, you will remember.”

    Completed an honours undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of Ottawa . Attended high school at Kenner CVI in Peterborough , Ontario .
    I feel that Maple Leaf has a great philosophy of blending the finest of Eastern and Western educations. I think teaching in this school is a great experience for anyone.
